I spent most of my weekend sewing my Halloween costume. This year I’ve decided to go as Snow White and like a masochist I decided I’d sew my costume too. I made a trip last weekend to Jo-Anns for a pattern and supplies, despite being overwhelmingly crowded and picked over I was able to find everything.
I settled on this pattern, knowing I could modify it into my vision.
I went fabric and pattern shopping for my Halloween costume Sunday; this year I’ve decided to go as Snow White. I bought a gold brocade for the skirt, a blue corduroy for the bodice, a creamy white for the sleeves, and ribbons to accent it all. I also bought some red felt to make an apple purse/clutch a la last year’s watermelon purse.
My Bosses (aka, Mom and Dad) invited me and my brother to the NTMA Technical Seminar in Chicago this year. This was my first trip to Chicago and my first trip to a “Big City” not on the west coast. Here are some highlights from our trip…
Dinner at the Chop House
Visiting the top floor of Hancock Tower
Visiting Millenium Park
Seeing amazing artwork at the Art Institute
It was amazing and a bit of a whirlwind. My one regret is wasting one of our days by lounging around the hotel. I really can’t wait to go back to the city and especially the Art Institute.
